We had a great time today in Music class. We started things off today by drumming (as a class) to three of the Top 10 songs of the week. Lots of enthusiasm and we clearly made the distinction between beat and rhythm!

In the second part of the class we started in our textbook (Chapter 1, Unit 1) and had a discussion about what makes a piece of music popular, and how the style of music changes with different decades and generations. We looked at the titles and artists of several songs and tried to guess the style type and the decade and made a judgement call on whether we might like the song or not. We then listened to clips of these songs to see how close our guesses were.
