Hello families of Nackawic Middle and welcome to 2021-22 school year!

We are excited to begin anew with our students and here are some updates to
keep in mind as we gear up:

1) School supplies and general school fee--will be $65 per student this year
and is payable with cash, cheque, or online via https://anglophonewest.schoolcashonline.com.  Amount
is due by Sept. 30.  This fee covers all needed school
supplies as well as the traditional school fees (for exploratory subjects,
locks, agenda, etc).  We will keep all supplies in classrooms and your
child will have access to all the materials needed.  Students still
require items such as indoor sneakers, bescherelle and French/English
dictionary (for immersion students), any personal pencils/pens/pencil case if
desired (not needed), lunch bag, and a book bag for back and forth to school.

2) Bussing--times remain the same this year and all students are
welcome to travel on busses as in pre-pandemic.  Morning drop off of
bus students at NMS this year will be after high school and elementary, so
after 8:15.  Homeroom begins at 8:25.  Duty begins at 8 am and we ask
students who are walking or dropped off to arrive after this time.  After
school dismissal is the same--bus students leave around 2:55 and walkers/picked
up students will be released once busses depart.

3) FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL--for grade 6s ONLY--will be Tuesday, Sept. 7.
All students (grade 6-8) will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

4) School pictures are set right away for THURS, Sept. 9!!

5) Cafeteria will be serving lunches beginning Sept. 20.   The menu will be communicated beforehand and
all ordering is done online via  www.cafzone.ca.  Purchased lunches will continue to be delivered to
classrooms.   We will not have microwaves for students’ use.

6) Our school will be following the
recently released provincial Healthy and Safe Schools guidelines for ensuring
our schools are as safe as possible while we still navigate the realities of
covid-19. We will be going over expectations with students and focusing on
hygiene, sanitizing, social distancing, limited and monitored visitors, no
large gatherings, and sickness monitoring.  The details are available in
this document attached.   https://www2.gnb.ca/content/dam/gnb/Departments/ed/pdf/2021-22-guidelines.pdf

Please feel free to reach out if you have questions.  Looking forward
to a great year!
