Heart & Stroke Foundation "Model of Health" Award Winner

Lakewood Heights Elementary School teacher Stacey Briggs is being recognized by the Heart and Stroke Foundation as one of New Brunswick's "Model of Health" award recipients. Ms. Briggs will be celebrated on May 9th at the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s “Red Dress Gala” in Moncton.  Anne Ervin's Grade 4 class nominated Stacey in February and she was selected as one of six women in NB to receive this prestigious award. The students were able to deliver the news to her and read the nomination piece they wrote together with their teacher. It was a great surprise! The Heart and Stroke
Foundation sent a videographer to Lakewood elementary School last week to film Stacey with the Grade 4 class, during their Physical Education class. The class will create a picture montage to be shown that evening. As part of the award she is having a Red Dress designed for her to wear to the Gala. The staff and students of Lakewood Heights Elementary
School are very excited for her and could not think of a better model of health!
