In partnership with READ Saint John, Anglophone South School District will be offering a Summer School Program to students in Grades 8 to 12 as follows:
June 30-July 25, to Grades 8-12 students wishing to enroll in English as Another Language (EAL)
June 30-July25, to Grades 8-10 students wishing to enroll in the following courses:
Grades 8 & 9 Math
Geometry, Measurement & Finance 10
Number, Relations & Functions 10
Grades 8, 9 & 10 English Language Arts
June 30-August 1, to Grades 11-12 students wishing to enroll in the following courses:
Biology 112, 113, 120 Financial & Workplace Mathematics 110, 120
Chemistry 112, 122 Foundations of Mathematics 110, 120
Economics 120 Pre-Calculus 110, 120A, 120B
English 112, 113, 122, 123 Calculus 120
Environmental Science 122 Physical Geography 110
French 112, 122 Physics 112, 122
Geography 120 Other Courses, if there is sufficient student interest.
History 112, 113, 122
Law 120
Teachers may apply in writing on or before May 23, 2014, stating qualifications and experience, as well as summer school courses they would be interested in teaching. Preference will be given to Anglophone South School District Contract B and D teachers who have recently had successful experience teaching the above courses during the regular school year and/or during past summer schools.
Teacher remuneration will be as follows:
EAL (June 30-July 25): $27.00 per hour x 115 hours, plus 4% vacation pay = $ 3229.20
Grades 8-10 (June 30-July 25): $27.00 per hour x 115 hours, plus 4% vacation pay = $ 3229.20
Grades 11-12 (June 30 -August 1): $27.00 per hour x 140 hours, plus 4% vacation pay = $ 3931.20
Please note that the location for this year’s summer school will be Saint John High School. Classes run on week days from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
