Kindergarten registration will be happening October 10-13 at elementary schools in Anglophone School District West. If you are uncertain of which school your child would attend, go to the Transportation Eligibility web page and search your address.
“Kindergarten is an important first step for children in both education and socialization,” said Catherine Blaney, Interim Superintendent, Anglophone West School District. “Start your child’s education on the right path by registering them for kindergarten.”
Kindergarten registration is compulsory for all children who will be five years old on or before December 31, 2018. Parents may choose to defer entry into kindergarten if:
- The child is exempt under Section 15 of the Education Act
- The child is four years old on September 1, 2018
Parents of children not born in Canada or were born in Canada but English is not their home language are invited to register for kindergarten at the Newcomer Support Centre during the week of October 10-13 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The Centre is located at 575 George Street (please use the Regent Street entrance of the building).
