Weekly Messages, June 21st

Hello! Today is Tuesday, June 21st and this is Ms. McGrath calling with a few messages for Raiders and their families.
Tomorrow is our Gr. 8 closing dance which we call “Cabaret”. Those who purchased tickets last week, should plan to arrive at 5:45 for photos followed by a light meal and the viewing of the Gr. 8 video. Families then leave the building and our Gr. 8 students enjoy their last school dance at RVMS. I also want to remind families as I reminded students today, that you must be in attendance at school for the full school day in order to attend the Cabaret. That means that Gr. 8 students who plan to attend, should not leave before the early dismissal bell at 2:30.
Because we have Cabaret, there is no Cafeteria service for regular lunch tomorrow. All students, Grade 6, 7 & 8 should plan to bring a lunch tomorrow. There may be limited pizza available in the Tech Lab but all students should bring food with them tomorrow. We will have regular cafeteria service on Thursday and that will be the last cafeteria day for this school year.
Our Awards ceremony is scheduled for Thursday morning at 9:30 with doors opening to the public at 9:00. All Gr. 8 students will be recognized at this ceremony as well as students in Gr. 6 & 7 who are receiving special awards. If your child is scheduled to receive an award at the ceremony, you will be contacted by the Homeroom teacher.
Our final day this school year is Friday, June 24th with an 11:30 dismissal. Report Cards are handed out on this day. Students cannot simply arrive to get their Report Card and then leave. They must be signed out by a parent/guardian if they are leaving before the 11:30 dismissal. Report Cards that are not picked up on Friday morning, will be available in the school office on Friday afternoon and on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
Finally, we ask that families take a few moments to vote for one of our Raiders who was chosen as a Provincial Showcase Winner at the Heritage Fair. Brycen Schofields project on WWII is showcased and votes for him will help him win a trip to Ottawa to attend the Canada’s History Youth Forum. You can vote by accessing the link in this e-mail message or by going to our school website, www.rvms.nbed.nb.ca   and clicking on the link there.
Thank you and good evening!
