Hello! Today is Monday, January 23rd and this is Ms. McGrath calling with some messages for Raiders and their families.
Our new ASAP schedule began last week. I have attached a copy to the e-mail version of this message and have posted it on our website as well at rvms.nbed.nb.ca. A ASAP 3 - 2016-2017.docASAP 3 - 2016-2017.dochuge thank you goes out to all of the staff who volunteer their time to offer this activity period to students each day.
A few other things to mention:
1. Although we allow the use of cellphones and hand held gaming devices here at school (at appropriate non-classroom times) we do not allow the use of portable speakers. Please do not send these items with your child. Headphones or earbuds are acceptable.
2. We have been reviewing student attendance as per District and Provincial policy. Families may receive a call or e-mail from your child’s teacher when total days absent has reached 5 days and a letter will be sent home once the total is 10 days or more. These totals include all absences. If you do receive a letter and have any questions, please contact me at the school.
3. A reminder to all families that we continue to offer dough for pizza or rolls at a cost of $5. We now are happy to offer frozen cookie dough as well for $5 (3 dozen cookies). All of the dough is made from scratch here in the building by our students and our kitchen is a nut free environment. If you are interested orders may be placed on Monday or Friday mornings before class and dough is ready for pickup at the end of the day.
As always, very busy days here at RVMS with Basketball and Ski Club in full swing and the Drama season gearing up. In the next month we have the Annual Hoops Classic Basketball Tournament, Gr. 8 High School Registration, Heritage Fair and our school’s 40th Anniversary Open House. More details regarding these events will be sent in the near future.
