Hello! Today is Thursday, September 7th and his is Ms. McGrath calling with messages for all Raiders and their families.
We have had a wonderful week with all of our Raiders old & new.
I know, especially for new Raider families, the information that comes home the first few weeks can be overwhelming. I do have a few items for you today, many of which will be repeated in the coming
-Parents are reminded that students cannot be dropped off prior to 7:55 in the morning. As well, please do not enter the bus area between the large planters/traffic circle and the school during drop off or pick up times. Students may be dropped off in either the Epworth Park Road parking lot or the small parking lot next to the Zamboni doors at the rink.
-Tomorrow, Friday, September 8th the Gr. 8 students will once again have Pizza for sale in the Tech Lab at lunch for $1/slice
-Our cafeteria service is up and running thanks to Chef Frank & Kerri Horvat. There is no pre-ordering required. All items are between 50 cents and $4 and the students order directly from Frank & Kerri each day. Students may bring their own lunch or buy from the cafeteria each day.
-We continue to work with our drivers on ensuring accurate bus information. The assigned bus runs are the morning bus and the bus that leaves after 3:10. Our “early” run buses will begin next week, Monday, September 11th. This bus run is for students who have earned the privilege to participate in ASAP or leave early. Bus runs are limited to the local area and outlying areas (Welsford, Clarendon, Evandale, Kingston Peninsula, do not have a courtesy “early” run. Homeroom teachers will give this information to students as soon as we have it.
-Our first full ASAP schedule begins next week. I will send a copy home with next week’s message.
-Finally, our annual “Open House/Meet the Teacher” evening is scheduled for next Thursday, September 14th. It is a chance for our Raiders to show their families around the school & introduce their teachers. We have planned a Corn Boil for 5:30 for any interested families. At 6:00 we meet in the Theatre for a quick Q & A session and then proceed upstairs to meet with Teacher Teams.
-PSSC information is also available at this time and we do have a few openings for interested parents this year. If you are interested, please see the attached brochure or contact me at the school.
