Weekly Announcements, November 28th, 2017

Hello! Today is Tuesday, November 28th and this is Ms. McGrath calling with the weekly messages for Raiders and their families.
First of all I would like to thank all of my teachers, student leaders and parents and families who participated in Parent/Teacher meetings last week. Strong communication between school and home is a key factor in developing strong and resilient children and, I believe, this shows in our students.
School Pictures were returned to the school by Photography Flewwelling on Monday. If you ordered and have not received the pictures, please check your child’s book bag as all of the pictures we received have been handed to students.
As well, McCluskey Brothers will continue to take clothing orders until this Friday, December 1st with delivery of items scheduled for the week before Christmas.
We are happy to, once again, send a delegation of our students to We Day Atlantic in Halifax. Our Me to WE group was the first group in our school district and has been very actively supporting our local community and other struggling communities throughout the world for the past 6 years. This year, we are very honoured to have Mme. Petit, our resident Me to We cheerleader, chosen as the Educator of the Year representing the Atlantic Provinces and Quebec at the We Day celebrations in Halifax on Thursday. Please check out the website or watch the event live online on Thursday morning to catch a glimpse of Mme. Petit and our RVMS team.
Just google WE Day Atlantic 2017 or click on the link attached to the e-mail version of this message.
Two more quick items this evening:
1.       Next Wednesday, December 6th is another ½ day for students with dismissal at RVMS beginning by 11:30 and all bus students arriving home no later than 12:45.
2.       It is winter, and as difficult as I know it can be, please encourage your child to dress for the weather. Today, with the outside temperature at -8 this morning, we had students in shorts and sandals. We do stay outside and go outside regularly, so please ensure students dress appropriately for Canadian winter weather.
That is all for this evening! As always, this message is on our website at rvms.nbed.nb.ca.
You can contact me any time at trudy.mcgrath@nbed.nb.ca or at 738-6511.
Thank you and good evening!
