Principal's Message ~ Friday, June 17th, 2016

Forest Hills School

We Build Inclusion, Capacity, and Learning Communities

June 17th, 2016

This is a message from Mrs. Savoie, principal at Forest Hills School.

Due to the arrival time of busses, supervision next year for K-8 will begin at 8:20.  Students will still enter the building at 8:35 and instruction will still begin at 8:50.  Dismissal for K-2 continues to be 2:05 and 3-8 continues to be 3:05.

We will be hosting our Open House and PSSC elections next year on Wednesday, August 31st from 5:30-7:30.  We will begin in the main gym, then head to classrooms to meet teachers and hear about curriculum and expectations.  We will end the evening in the back yard with a BBQ provided by our PALs at Canaport LNG.  Student are able to drop off school supplies and meet their teacher the week before school begins, which we feel really helps to lessen first day anxiety!  We hope to see you there!

As some of you know, I will be on maternity leave with twins next year until after the Christmas break.  Paul Hickey will be the Acting Principal while I’m out and Kari Parsons will be the Acting Elementary VP.  Erika Brown will be out for the year on leave and Beverlee MacDonald will be the Acting Middle Level VP.  I know that they will be a great team and have the upmost confidence in their abilities.

Next Thursday morning will be our annual activity morning.  Students should wear sun block.  Pizza will be provided by our home & school.  Friday will be our last day before the summer break.  Walking students will be dismissed at 11:30 and busses will begin their runs at that time.  Home reports will go out on Friday.

Remember Falcons, be respectful, be responsible, and be safe!

Have a nice weekend,

Melissa Savoie

Principal
