Hello! This is Ms. McGrath calling with the final message of this school year.
I would like to remind you that all of these messages and many other items can also be found on our school website at rvms.nbed.nb.ca. Copies of our school supply list for next year as well as the school calendar for 2018-2019 will be posted there as well (and attached to this message). There is also a message from the Office of the Superintendant regarding the school calendar for next year that we have been asked to share with all parents.
We have a busy week ahead. Our Gr. 8 closing event, “Cabaret”, is scheduled for Wednesday evening. Pictures start at 5:30. Chef Frank will present a light meal and dessert from 6:00-7:00 and we will then watch the year-end video in the gym. Following the video, families are asked to leave and our Gr. 8 students enjoy their final dance at RVMS. We usually end between 9:00 and 9:30 depending on the length of the video. Only middle school students may attend the dance portion of the event.
On Thursday morning at 9:30 we have our annual Awards Ceremony. The doors to the gym open to the public at 9:00. This event recognizes each one of our Gr. 8 students. Awards are also handed out to students from all grades recognizing extraordinary achievement in a variety of areas. Families of award winners will be contacted prior to the ceremony.
Report Cards will go home with students on Friday, June 22. No Report Cards will be handed out before that time. Students will be dismissed at noon on that day as well. Students who wish to leave the building early, must have a note from their parents (please don’t call or e-mail) and they must sign-out at the office.
Students who are absent on Friday, may pick up their Report Card at the school office. They will also be available on Monday and Tuesday of next week. We do not mail out Report Cards that have not been picked up.
Because of our busy schedule and the half day dismissal, lunch will be served in the cafeteria on Tuesday and Thursday only. On Wednesday, Gr. 7 pizza and milk will be available in the Tech Lab. There is no lunch service on Friday as we dismiss at 11:45.
Finally, I would like to thank all Raiders and their families for another successful year at RVMS. I wish all Gr. 8 students a wonderful High School adventure and I can’t wait to welcome the rest of my Raiders back for a great year in September.
