Hello Raider Families!

We have a few messages this week and a reminder that you can always check on events and important dates by checking out our school website at rvms.nbed.nb.ca or you can find us on Twitter @RVMiddle

-Spring is in the air and students have been reminded about dress code this week. In particular I have spoken to them about “crop” tops and wearing pants low enough that your underwear is visible (or worse, what is under the underwear). Our suggestion is to wear a “cami” or an undershirt that tucks into pants or to use a belt to keep your pants pulled up so that underwear and private body parts are not visible.  A good measure for students is to check the mirror before they leave the house and ask themselves if Ms. McGrath will be o.k. with what they are wearingJ. This policy is in place to teach students about appropriate dress in the workplace.

-Report Cards go home on April 1st. You can begin calling for Parent/Teacher times on Thursday of next week (March 28th).

-There is no school for students this Friday, March 22nd.

-For the first time, we will be running a Scholastic Book Fair April 2-5. This will also be open during Parent/Teacher interview times.

-The local High Schools are again presenting a free Parent Information Session. The have booked Dr. Daniel Chorley, from the IWK in Halifax. He specializes in children and teens and this session is titled, Social Media and its effect on our Mental Health. See the attached flyer for more information. The session is Thursday, April 4th.

-Yearbooks will be going on sale in April. To purchase you must register and use Cashless Schools. You can find the link for this on the school website.

-The Boys & Girls Club has asked me to pass along information about a summer camp they are running in our area. Their flyer is attached.

That is all for this week! Enjoy spring!
