Retrieval of Personal Items from Lockers

St. Malachy’s Retrieval of Personal Items Plan

With the provincial decision that schools will be closed for the remainder of the academic year we have been given permission to allow interested students an opportunity to retrieve personal items from their locker. If there is nothing you need or want from your locker your items will simply remain in place. Reduced numbers will help in achieving social distancing protocols that are currently in place.

Here are general guidelines for retrieving student items. It is critical that everyone respect the safety guidelines of Public Health so we can ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and families.

Procedure:

  • Please bring a bag with you to put items in.
  • If you have a school uniform or jersey, please have it washed and placed in a plastic bag with your name on a piece of paper.  There will be a bin outside the gym doors to collect the uniforms.
    • Please do not bring other items to return at this time.
  • We would ask all students to enter through the front main door and you will be directed to exit through the gym doors or through the new wing exit near Mr. Nichols’ lab. Please come during your assigned time as identified in the schedule below.
  • When you arrive at the school you will be greeted at the door and asked to review the questions on the poster from Public Health displayed on the window. Upon entry, you will be asked to wash your hands at a designated washroom, or you may use gloves.  It is recommended that you wash your hands again after leaving the school.
  • While in the school please maintain physical distancing of 2m (6ft).  There will be staff hall monitors in place to help give directions and indicate the appropriate exit. A mask is not required but as in other public places it is encouraged.
  • If you are having another person pick up the student’s belongings you must notify the Principal in advance.
  • There are two special time allotments.  Students with compromised immune systems will be able to enter the building from 8:30 – 9:00 AM on both days.
  • If you have multiple students in your home, please choose which time slot works best and all attend at the same time.
  • If the scheduled time does not work due to personal or parent work schedule, please reach out to Mr. Stevens (bradley.stevens@nbed.nb.ca) to discuss an alternate solution.​

Schedule:

Our scheduled is based on grade level and last name alphabetical order.  Time slots are 30 minutes to allow each student to enter the building, pick up required items, and exit the building within the allotted time.
