​Good afternoon Raider Families,

A new week means new Covid safety protocols!! The announcement on Friday afternoon, which schools received at the same time the public announcement was made, has meant that we are pausing ASAP & Sports until we can figure out a way to follow the new guidelines and track and supervise over 300 Middle School students.

This means that we have added a morning break and extended our lunch hours. Our school hours remain the same, 8:40-3:10, but there is currently no early dismissal and no ASAP. We will review at the end of the week.

1.       We have also had to revert to an alternating cafeteria schedule with students eating in their homeroom one day, and in the cafeteria the next day. This means access to microwaves only on cafeteria days. The cafeteria schedule is below. Today was a “Day A” lunch. First lunch now begins at 11:50 and second lunch at 12:25.

2.       In addition, picture day is this Friday. Students are asked to wear bright clothing with simple patterns or designs. Traditionally, Grade 8 students wear white shirts for this photo (as evidenced by our row of class photos in the main hallway dating back to the 1990s). They do not have to wear a white shirt if they do not want to but most choose white for this photo. Retake day is October 12.
