Hello! Today is Monday, March 30th and this is Ms. McGrath calling with a few messages for Raiders and their families.
We would like to thank all of the families who participated in our student-led conferences on Wednesday evening and Friday afternoon last week. We believe it is a valuable educational experience for students to reflect on their successes and their struggles and use this information to help guide them through the rest of their school year. We thank all of our Raider families for their support.
Congratulations goes out to our Gr. 8 students who will be receiving their High School Letters this week. These letters go out directly from the District office so if you have any questions, you should contact ASD-S as RVMS does not have information about High School assignments at this time. Traditionally the District informs students and parents by letter and then sends our school a master list after parent letters have been sent.
We would like to remind all students to have indoor footwear whenever possible. We do not allow students to wear rubber boots or winter boots during the school day and this is especially important during the muddy, wet spring weather.
We have had reports of community residents illegally dumping garbage into the school dumpsters. This is not an acceptable activity. We will be reporting any other incidents to the RCMP and taking action to secure the dumpsters from tampering. Please respect school property and discontinue this activity and/or report any incidents you witness to Ms. McGrath.
Spring is a very busy time of year at our school. Please check these weekly messages for upcoming events and activities.
As the coming weekend is Easter, there is no school for students this Friday, April 3rd or on Monday, April 6th. As I mentioned last week, the District has cancelled PD on April 20th so all students do have regular classes on that date. This is a change from the school calendar that was sent out in September.
