Hello! Today is Monday, November 9th and this is Ms. McGrath calling with a few messages for Raiders and their families.
First of all, a reminder that Wednesday is Remembrance Day and there is no school for students on that day. RVMS is proud to once again host the Remembrance Day Ceremony for the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield in our gym. All are welcome to attend. Students will also attend school ceremonies during the morning tomorrow.
This Friday marks the end of our first reporting period with Report Cards scheduled to go home two weeks from today on Monday, November 23rd. With this in mind, we have a few reminders.
1. Please review page 12 & 13 of your child’s agenda. These pages contain some useful information about grades and assessment for both students and parents.
2. Our Parent/Teacher meetings are scheduled for the evening of Thursday, November 26th and the afternoon of Friday, November 27th. You can call the main office at 738-6500 beginning on Thursday, November 19th to schedule a teacher meeting.
3. Because of Parent/Teacher and PD, there is no school for students on Friday, November 27th.
4. McCluskey Brothers will be selling school clothing during the last week of November. Samples will be available during lunch hours and during Parent/Teacher times.  An order form will go home in the near future with one of my weekly e-mails.
We are currently accepting forms for students who are interested in joining our Ski Club. We take a group of students to Poley Mountain every Thursday for 6 weeks beginning right after the Christmas Break. There is a cost involved. No experience is necessary. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Logan or Ms. McGrath at the school. I have also attached the information to the e-mail version of this message.
The school District has recently released their “Inclement Weather Policy” which outlines how and when schools might be closed or delay buses during weather events. You can review this policy by going to the District website and I have also attached the information to the e-mail version of this message.
