Weekly Messages, November 23, 2015

Hello! Today is Monday, November 23rd and this is Ms. McGrath calling with messages for Raider and their families.
Today is Report Card day! Your child should have an envelope with their Report Card. Please keep the Report Card and the letter from me and review with your child (also attached to this e-mail). Then return the envelope and parent signature sheet to your child’s Homeroom Teacher.
As I mentioned last week, Parent Teacher meetings are this Thursday evening and Friday afternoon. As a result, there is no school for students this Friday, November 27th.
McCluskey Brothers will be set up at noon later this week and during Parent/Teacher interviews for the sale of school clothing items. I have also attached a copy of the order form to this message. If you would like to order, please send the form and money in with your child no later than next Wednesday, December 2nd.
Our Lost & Found items are currently on display in the main hallway and will be there during Parent/Teacher meetings as well. Items remaining after this week, will be donated. If your child is missing a water bottle, lunch box or winter jacket, ask them to check the Lost & Found before Friday.
We have exciting things happening in our Brilliant Lab space! Our enrichment group are working with robotics, textiles, circuitry, photography and programming. It is amazing to see and something we hope to be able to provide to all of our students over the course of the school year. As part of this project, we also now have limited Wi-Fi access in our building. With a teacher’s permission, students may bring their own device to school to use for research when working on projects. They will be provided with a temporary password and will have access to the Internet on their device while working in the classroom. Of course, all school expectations for appropriate internet usage apply. If you do not want your child to have access on their device, you may choose not to send a device with them to school or send a note to their homeroom teacher.
Our PSSC continues to seek out individuals who are interested in coming to the school to share their work experience. If you are interested, please check last week’s memo for more information or contact Mr. Andrew Easton at paremedicnb@gmail.com
Last but not least, we are happy to announce that Chef Frank will be hosting our 2nd Annual Holiday Lunch on Thursday, December 10th.  Lunch consists of Sage Roasted Turkey, Mixed Garden Vegetables, Buttered Mashed Potatoes, Savory Pan Gravy, a Buttered Crusty Roll, Chocolate Mousse with Candy Cane Crunch and a beverage. The cost is $8 with $1 going to support local charities. All students who purchase a dinner will be entered into a draw for some prizes. Tickets go on sale from your Homeroom Teacher next Monday, November 30th to Monday, December 7th.

That is all for this week. As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at the school at trudy.mcgrath@nbed.nb.ca or on my direct line at 738-6511.

Thank you and good evening!
