Weekly Announcements, March 28th, 2017

Hello! Today is Tuesday, March 28th and this is Ms. McGrath calling with a few reminders for Raiders and their families.
Report Cards went home with students yesterday. Please review these with your child and sign and return the parent signature form to your child’s Homeroom Teacher. It is important to remind your child that their marks only reflect how well they have understood the curriculum and met the Provincial standards. You may wish to use the reflection on page 13 of the student agenda to help your child reflect on Term 2 and set new goals for the final term this year.
As I mentioned last week parent/Teacher meetings are this Thursday evening from 5-8 pm and Friday afternoon from 1-3 pm. Because of this, there is no school for students this Friday, March 31st.
As of next week, we will move our student drop-off zone to the field side of the building. Please do not enter the bus loading zone during morning drop-off or afternoon dismissal times. Students can be dropped off either next to the rink near the Zamboni doors or in our lower parking lot off Epworth Park Road.
As part of Emergency preparedness, we will be practicing our “Hold & Secure” procedure next week. This procedure may be used for medical emergencies or for events outside the building where it is safest to lock our doors and keep everyone inside. I do want to remind parents that there is a procedure for you to follow in a real “Lockdown” or “Hold & Secure” emergencies. I sent it out earlier in the year but I am attaching it again here and it is also linked on the top section on the main page of our website at www.rvms.nbed.nb.ca
Gr. 8 Hoodies with the 2017 Logo are now available for order. We have forms in the office and attached here. Deadline to order is next Friday, April 7th. This is for Gr. 8 students only.
Finally, with the warm weather the rink has once again become an after school hangout spot. I would discourage families from letting their children go there after school. It is an unsupervised area and has led to many problems with bullying this year.
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at trudy.mcgrath@nbed.nb.ca or 738-6511.
Thank you and good evening!
