Hello! Today is Tuesday, April 24th and this is Ms. McGrath calling with a few messages for Raiders and their families.
 
First we would like to celebrate Mr. Vincent and a group of students who volunteered to go with him to a coding competition at the District. All of our Raiders did very well. Two students, Ben Prowse and Morgan Cole won a new monitor for the school. These two gentlemen beat out HVHS, SJHS, Simonds and KVHS and placed 2nd in the competition and only two points behind St. Mac’s winning team of High School students! Great job gentlemen and a big thanks to Mr. Vincent and his cutting edge Tech program at RVMS!
 
I see many students with bikes, boards and scooters on their way to school each morning and that is great to see!! I do insist that students wear helmets and much appreciate parent support for that rule.
 
WE are happy to provide Chef Frank $$ for students who forget their lunch or money but we do need to have that money paid back. We will be reminding students this week about any outstanding amounts owing.
 
Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 25th is a half day with students being dismissed at noon and teachers working on PD for the afternoon. As well, we have had a message from ASD-S regarding a Report Card Preparation ½ day on June 6th which will follow this same format. More information is posted on our website under “Raider News”
 
Our Gr. 7 students have their final immunization clinic of the year scheduled for this Friday, April 27th. Gr. 7 families will receive another reminder on Thursday evening.
 
Next week is the annual provincial council days for teachers and we are in for two short weeks in a row. Please note these upcoming dates:
Wednesday, April 25th – ½ day – noon dismissal for students
Friday, April 27th – Gr. 7 HPV Clinic
Friday, May 4th – PD Day – No school for students
Monday, May 7th – PD Day – No school for students
