Hello! Today is Tuesday, May 22nd and this is Ms. McGrath calling with a few messages for Raiders and their families.
We would like to begin by congratulating a few of our students.
Eli Springthorpe has been chosen as a recipient of the “Teens Who Care” Awards and he will be recognized later this month at a ceremony at Lilly Lake Pavilion. This award recognizes Teens who are active in their schools and communities and who volunteer and who demonstrate leadership. Congratulations Eli!
You may have heard another Raider, Kayleigh Robson, on the radio last week. Kayleigh was recognized as a “Wave Community Kid” and is another Raider who gives of her time and talent to help and volunteer in her community. Bravo Kayleigh!
Teah Marr, one of our Gr. 8 students, will be recognized this week at the ASD-S “Turnaround Achievement Awards”. We are very proud of Teah and all she has accomplished while at River Valley over the past three years. Great job Teah!
Our annual drama production is set for next week with public performances on Tuesday, May 29th and Wednesday, May 30th at 7:00 pm in our school theatre. The cast has been diligently working on the play, “Haphazardly Ever After” and are very excited to share this production with students, family, and community members. Tickets are $6 each and can be purchased at the school office any day this week.
Our Gr. 6 FI students are headed out to their annual trip to Snider Mountain to practice their French Language skills. Bonne Voyage! I know you will have a great time. Fingers crossed for nice weather!

May 31st – Last school dance of the year. 6-8 pm; $5
June 6th – Half Day for students with noon dismissal
June 4th – Gr. 5 Visitation to RVMS
June 7th – District Middle Level Track & Field
June 13th-15th – Gr. 8 Quebec Trip
June 20th – Gr. 8 Cabaret
June 21st – Awards Ceremony 9:30 am
June 22nd – Report Cards & Last Day for Students
