ASAP Oct 28-Jan 10.docx
This is a message for all Raiders and their
families.
I cannot believe it is November already! I
have a few important messages for families this week:
1.
Please review the attached letter “Info
for Families in an Emergency at School”. This gives families valuable information
should we find ourselves in an emergency at RVMS. The most important info
pertains to what families should do in an emergency. DO NOT COME TO THE SCHOOL and DO
NOT TEXT OR CALL YOUR CHILD. Please review the attached letter, and keep it
somewhere it can be easily referenced in true emergency.
2.
As we mentioned in our last message, Ms.
McCluskey’s and the Student Leaders are running an online Book Fair. Book
orders are due by Tuesday, November 5th. Go to www.scholastic.ca/canadaclubs
for more info.
3.
Mr. Vincent’s team of student chefs
continue to provide us with some hot lunch options. This week we have options
available on three days. Supplies are limited so we suggest students also bring
some “back up” snacks in the event that supplies run out.
Tuesday,
Nov 5 – Tabbouleh Bowl & Garlic Bread $2
Wednesday,
Nov 6 – Steak Stir Fry & Rice Bowl $3
Thursday,
Nov 7 – Pizza by the slice $1
4.
Information is going home to all Gr. 8
families this week regarding the June trip to Quebec. There is also a parent
info session scheduled for 6:00 pm on Monday, November 4 in the theatre.
5.
We are hoping to run our Ski Club to
Poley Mountain again this year. We are simply waiting on some final information
before we open availability to students. We will offer spots to Gr. 7 & 8 students
first and any remaining spots will then be offered to our Gr. 6 students. Stay
tuned for more info!
6. Report
Cards will be going home on November 18 with Parent/Teacher meetings on Nov 21
& 22. Families may call to book an appointment
beginning at 9:00 am on Thursday, Nov 14.
7.
Finally, as it is Canada, and winter
is coming, we expect students to be dressed properly. Raiders must be prepared
to be outside in weather as cold as -15 C and should have long pants and a coat
or hoodie on at all times, when outside, between Nov 1 and March 30.
