Hey STARS, be sure to go to chatterhigh.com and participate in the Chatterhigh Competiton. Last year, CNHS won the AAA division for NB and came second in Canada! Last year, 18 teachers, 30 parents and 309 students participated. Let's see if we can beat that this year! When we win, they send us $$$, so, let's go STARS!
Check out the powerpoint presentation to the right, called "Parent Guardian Info Presentation Oct. 4th". It is the presentation that Mrs. Albright and Mrs. Lord discussed at the information meeting last night. Thanks for coming and have a great year!
Grade 12 students will have their first meeting on Septemeber 18th, 2017. Students will receive a grade 12 blue packet with information to help grade 12 be a successful year. All documents in this folder are posted to the right of this blog. There is a letter to parents that outlines the meeting and all the documents. Students are reminded to book an appointment with guidance if they need any assistance or have any further questions. The Career Expo - AARAO Tour - is scheduled for Friday, September 22nd in the gym. This is an excellent opportunity for students to ask questions and make contacts with university and college representatives.
Scholarships with May deadlines are now posted to the right under the scholarships tab. Students in grade 12 planning to go college or university next year are strongly encouraged to apply.
Attention grade 11 students:
Anyone planning to apply to NBCC for September 2018 entry,
the application process opens up online at nbcc.ca this Saturday, April 1st.
However, students are allowed to request for their transcripts to be sent on
March 31st . To request transcripts to be sent, students must
stop by at the office to obtain a consent form to be signed by your
parents. This form must be returned to the office before your transcript
can be sent to NBCC.
The 2016 "Give Respect – Get Respect" theme focuses on three critical areas necessary to promote respect and diversity at CNHS: respecting human rights, respecting our school culture, and taking personal responsibility. Giving respect and getting respect is crucial, so we can all reach our fullest potential and be the best we can be, here at Carleton North, in our community, and wherever you may go.
This year, teachers will be discussing the following with students: our personal responsibility for being respectful, teen mental health, online respect and safety, support for the LGBTQ+, and healthy relationships in dating.
Today, the grade 12 students entering college or university met in the theatre for a scholarship tips meeting. Please see the presentation to the right of this blog for useful tips and reminders. It's your resource! :)
