Potential Direction for 2016-17:

- Our ESS team will continue to use the co-teaching model for guiding teaching in the best Tier 1 academic and behavioral interventions.

- Provide teachers with more PL on UDL lesson planning and designing assessment driven activities/lessons.

- Begin a rotation schedule for our ESS team; 1 week = new referrals, 2 week = data reflection with teachers

- Teachers to observe other teachers for Tier 1 strategy suggestions for academics and behaviours

- Increase opportunities for teachers to work together in teams through collaborating to provide more flexible groupings, multi-age learning and co-teaching with one another.

- Re-structure the PLC team to include more teachers collaborating on the common critical thinking skills needed for all subjects

- Create a formal agenda for PLC teams and have an ESS member present at all PLC meetings for support and Tier 1 suggestions

- Literacy and Numeracy meetings (once a month) have a more structured agenda which would include PL, PLP discussions, and Tier 1 strategies for students (academic and behavioral)

- More common assessments developed in PLC teams. It would be more beneficial if the common assessments are short and relatable to the teaching component and next steps in learning.
