-Next week marks Canada Career Week. With the help of staff, Java will share clues about staff members' second dream career (teaching is, of course, our first) and classes will guess which teacher it belongs to. On Wednesday, we will have our K-5 assembly during which Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind will be introduced and connected to the idea of setting a career goal and then creating a plan. Then on Thursday, students will attend our Career Expo in the gymnasium. Thank you in advance to our FES family members who have volunteered to participate. On Friday, students can look forward to career dress-up day. Finally, students are invited to complete an at-home activity about their dream career (please see attached). Students who would like to complete this activity, which simply involves them identifying their dream career and drawing a picture of themselves in this career, are asked to submit their sheet to their teacher by Tuesday, November 1st, so that Java can display the many career possibilities available to students. Thank you for your support!

-  The first round of Student Led clubs will begin in late November. Application forms will be distributed to interested grade 4-5 students on Tuesday. Grade 3 students who are interested can complete “Leader In Training” forms and be paired with grade 4-5 students with similar interests.

-First Parade Workday is tomorrow, October 29 at 1:00 at Trevor and Charlotte Pierce's home which is located on Persimmon Lane. The committee looks forward to having assistance from families.

- Thank you to those parents who offered to assist with fluoride once a month. I have passed your names on to our coordinator, Lana MacKenzie, who is creating a schedule. She will contact you in the near future.

-Our first Scholastic bookfair of the year will take place on Nov. 23rd-24th for class visits and on Thursday evening, Nov. 24th and Friday morning, Nov. 25th during Parent Teacher Meetings.

-Our next P.S.S.C. meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 17th at 7pm. We would love to expand our membership so please email me at Bonnie.Hierlihy@nbed.nb.ca to get involved.  The PSSC assists the Principal in an advisory role. The committee addresses the broad issues related to the education of all students in the school, with the goal of enhancing student learning.
