KVHS Announcements - February 12, 2018
· Today’s special in the cafeteria is: spicy chicken Caesar salad and garlic wedge for $6.00
· Yearbook staff will be selling yearbooks in the cafeteria from February 12th – 28th. Books are going fast so don’t miss out!
· Saint Thomas University will be in the Work Room today for onsite admissions. Please sign up in guidance.
· UNB will be in the Work Room on Tuesday, February 13th for on the spot admissions, please sign up in guidance to attend.
· Grads! Black and White Affair is coming up on Thursday, February 22 from 6-8pm. Make sure to mark your calendars for this awesome, semi-formal event with your grad class of 2018! Students with last names A-M, bring main course meals and M-Z bring desserts.
· Shout out to all musicians and performers! There will be a coffee house on February 28th so sign up now! The sign-up sheet is on the arts board and more details will come soon.
· All of Mr. Morton’s classes will be held in room 006 today with the exception of Advisory which will be in the cafeteria.
· All of Mr. Marin’s classes will be held in 005 today.
· Attention staff: please bring your yoga gear for Wednesday after school in the Wellness Centre!
· If you are in Mr. Dobson’s political science class, Ms. Palmer’s Music 12 or Ms. Fullerton’s Native Studies 120, please report to the theatre right after lunch (an excuse will be sent to your advisory teacher). Thanks!
· Canadian Blood Services will be hosting a Blood Drive on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday February 14th from 10-1. We have 28 appointments filled with 12 left. Sign up Tuesday at lunch or drop in on Wednesday.
· Poetry Club will be meeting today at lunch.
· Mme. Robichaud is looking for a few students that can help out applying makeup for specific characters for the musical The Wizard of Oz. For those interested, listen up. You will need to come to all shows early and leave late. If you can only come for a few nights, but not all performances, this is not for you. Right now, she only needs about 8 girls to be trained to apply makeup for the Tin Man, Scarecrow, Lion and the Witch. For those who can only come for a few shows, don’t worry, there will be another announcement in March for those interested in applying makeup for the rest of the cast. But right now, only looking for those who can commit to all 6 performances. The meeting is this Thursday, February 15 at 12:35pm in room 111.
· Congratulations to the Girls Hockey team who had 2 ties and 1 loss in the Edmunston tournament.
· Congratulations to the Senior Girls Basketball team on placing first in Regionals this weekend. After beating Sussex by a score of 58-31 and beating Fredericton High by 4, the girls secured a first place seed going into Sectionals next weekend!
· Also congratulations to the Junior Girls Basketball team on a great season. After winning their first two games, they lost to Bernice MacNaughton in the final seconds of the semifinals in provincials this weekend.
· The Boys Hockey team defeated Sussex by a score of 8-4 on Saturday. Awesome job boys!
