Athletics: Any girls interested in football, there is a meeting today May 31st in the science lecture theater at lunch time.

 

KVHS Investment Club: Last club meeting today at lunch in Mrs. Smith’s room (124). Winners of the market simulator contest will be announced, and there will be a workshop on budgeting and how to start saving as an adolescent.”

 

Athletics: All Rugby Jerseys should be returned to Ms. Humphries in the gym by today!

 

Racial Equity Committee: May is a month of Asian Canadian Heritage, and for the rest of the month, Racial Equity Committee is sharing the stories of notable Asian Canadians.

 

Born in Malaysia, Baltej Singh Dhillon challenged the RCMP’s uniform requirements which called for a clean-shaven face and RCMP-issued headgear. This sparked debate across the country, and in 1990 the federal government announced new changes to the RCMP dress code, including the freedom for observant Sikhs to wear beards and turbans.

 

 

Hey KVHS, remember that the bike racks have been moved to the front entrance of the school and each time you bike to school, remember to post it to Instagram and tag KVHS with the hashtag, #rackit up, to win some great prizes from River and Trail!

 

Attention Advisory Classes: From May 29- June 9th there will be boxes in all Advisory Classes for donated items to Hestia House.  You can donate things such as non-perishable food, hygiene products. women and/or children clothing.  The advisory Class with the most donations at the end of the week will be rewarded with a pizza party provide by Ms. Nicholson’s Civics 10 Class.

 

Drama: All students who attended Dramafest may stop by Mme. Hart’s room # 234 to pick up a poster and a S.T.U. bag!! While supplies last.  Molly Maber please see Mme. Hart!

 

Do you play a band instrument?  Are you interested in learning more about playing in a rock band?  Island Rock Camps is coming to Saint John for 1 week this summer to offer their highly successful Rock Camp. The camp will run July 17-21 at St. Mac's High School.  Open to students up to 16 years old. No experience necessary. For more information, see Mrs. McIntyre in the Music Room.

 

Academics: Please bring cleaning products, money, toiletries, canned food to room # 004 Mrs. Nicholson’s Period 5 Civics Class, from May 30th to June 9th this is to support Coverdale Center for Women.

 

The Work Room: Interested in Apprenticeships? Come to The Work Room on TODAY at the beginning of lunch for an information session with Apprenticeship NB.

 

Hey Grads! Get ready for your last event of the year, Grad Dinner on June 6th! At this semi-formal event, fettuccine alfredo with chicken on the side will be served for supper, and a brownie for dessert. Also, prepare to discover the much-awaited yearbook superlatives!

Tickets are available for purchase on Cashless Schools for $20 until the end of the day on Friday. We look forward to seeing you there!

 

Hey Grads, get ready for an amazing last week of school with our exciting lineup of themed days! Kicking off next Monday, it's time to represent your future! Dress up in the clothes of the university or college you'll be attending next year. On the Tuesday, let's rewind the clock and embrace nostalgia with our mini-me day! Channel your inner child and come to school dressed up as a kid! 

 

Hey KV, mark your calendars for next Wednesday, June 7th, because it's our final mega blue and white day! We invite the entire school to come decked out in blue and white from head to toe to celebrate the end of the school year!

 

FREEZIES: They will be on sale at lunch Thursday and Friday this week for only $1.00! All proceeds will go to the Penny Appeal Canada to feed people in need.

 

Exams: Exemption forms are now available in the pink basket in the office. Exemptions are at teacher’s discretion, and you have one (1) or less late assignments.
