It's hard to believe that we are almost finished first term!  First term report cards will go home on Monday November 20 and you'll receive info this week on signing up for parent conferences with your child's teacher.  Most of these conferences will take place on Thursday evening November 23 from 4-7 PM or on Friday morning November 24. 
 
Please note that there will be no school for students on Wednesday November 8 - this is a full day of professional learning and work for the adult at MES, all related to a new format for our reporting.    You can expect that your child's report card will look quite different from those you may have received in other years.  Starting this year, all students in NB in grades K-8 will receive either a 1, 2, 3, 3+, 4 or 4+ in each subject area and there will also be a learning habits section.  Ask your child the differences between a 1, 2, 3, or 4 - there has been lots of discussion with your children about the assessment of their work.
 
Santa's helpers is coming quickly - please reserve Sunday Nov. 26 from 5-7 PM to be at SSMS.
 
Picture retakes will be done first thing in the morning on Thursday November 9.
