REVIEW OF THIS WEEK: Our word of the week was tantalize meaning to torment or tease. The cat was tantalized by the laser. This week we acknowledged the Ring a Bell campaign by listening to an important announcement from MLA Gary Crossman, we wore polka dots on Friday and rang a bell for Mental Health. Thank you to all the entries for the medal contest. The winner will be announced sometime in the new year!

Home and School News:.
The Java Moose Coffee orders arrived and were delivered to classes last evening. A huge thank you to Tammy, Laura and Erin who worked for several hours to organize and distribute the coffee to classrooms.

Please drop by our first annual “Shopping Extravaganza” on Friday evening, Dec. 2nd between 6-9 or Saturday morning between 10-2. We have many vendors (see attached flyer) so please stop in to do your holiday shopping and bring your family and friends to make this event successful.

Chess Tournament: Congratulations to our students who have been selected to participate in the chess tournament for the Hampton Education Centre which will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3rd at Kennebecasis Valley High School. Registration is from 8-9 am with games starting promptly at 9:00.

The time of year is approaching where you, as parents, will want to be informed about weather concerns. A web link, ASD-S Inclement Weather Information is placed on all school websites that will be linked to the information provided by Ms.  Watson, our district Superintendent.

HOUR OF CODE:  This week our school is participating in the Hour of Code. Classes will be visiting the tech lab for an hour this week to dig into the topic of Computer Science.

KIDS HELPING KIDS: For many years we have come up with a plan that encourages empathy and compassion in the students’ lives leading up to the holiday season. This is a special program that recognizes students who are "caught" helping a fellow student in need or doing a deed for others. Adults who spot a student caring can fill out a ticket and put it in the ballot box in the front foyer from December 4th until Dec. 16th. During the last week of school before the break, students will be randomly drawn from the entries and be invited to the “Creating Cards and Craft Making Corner”. The cards and crafts will be delivered to the Hampton Food Bank. It will then be distributed to the less fortunate for Christmas. Our goal is to instill the “gift of giving” while reinforcing gestures of kindness amongst peers. If you feel you would like to help work at the Craft Corner during the noon hours of December 19-23rd, please let me know.

CHRISTMAS CONCERTS: Wednesday, December 14th 8:45 AM (Last name A-L) 10:30 AM (M-Z). A donation to the Hampton Food Basket is recommended in lieu of an admission fee. A reminder about our VIP/best seat in the house fundraiser. Tickets will go on sale the week of Dec 5-9. Each child will be bringing home 6 tickets. (more are available at the office). Winning tickets receive reserved parking and preferred front row seating and a few treats. The funds raised will be used to support our Kids Helping Kids Program (toys for kids) and the Hampton Food Basket.
