This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School.
Fire Drill – We will have our second fire drill this coming week. In classrooms, we will also practice our other safety procedures including the secure the building and lockdown.
School fee $60 - This covers the cost of all student consumable school supplies, the student agenda, special performances at the school and skating which happens a bit later in the year. We ask families to provide only a backpack, lunch bag, tissues, indoor sneakers, and an inexpensive pair of ear buds or head phones. We have 218/303 (72%) who have paid their fee! Please pay online at https://asd-s.schoolcashonline.com/ or send your cash fee to the office.
On Monday, our milk program begins for those who have paid online.
Our first PSSC Meeting of the school year is Monday evening at 6:30PM and we will meet in the library.
Student Picture Day is Friday, September 20th! Harvey Studios will be here taking classes for their individual photos.
Cross Country afterschool on Wednesday with the students ready to run at 3:00PM at the  H.E.S. field. Students will be released when parents pick them up in the gym.
All changes to after school arrangements should be made before the school day (with a note to the classroom teacher). If there is an emergency change, please contact the office as soon in the day as possible.
SafeArrival program: You can now indicate your child’s absence via telephone, website or app. An added advantage is that absences can be reported in advance. For example, if you know your child has a dentist appointment in the future, you can submit that absence as soon as you make the appointment so you do not forget. Please report your child’s absence(s) using the Safe Arrival program (any of these three convenient methods):
1.     Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (or from the links at https://go.schoolmessenger.ca). The first time you use the app, select Sign Up to create your account (use the email address you have on file with the school). Select Attendance then Report an Absence.
2.     Use the SafeArrival website, https://go.schoolmessenger.ca. The first time you use the website, select Sign Up to create your account. Select Attendance then Report an Absence.
3.     Call the toll-free number 1-833-219-9065 to report an absence using the automated phone system. These options are available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week. Future absences can be reported at any time.

See you next week,

Sarah Blanchard

Fall Tree-Huggers Club - Join the Hampton NatureKids for a 4-week after-school program all about trees! Get to know some special trees, learn about how they grow, practice identifying different species, and find out about what trees provide for us. This fall club will take place on Friday afternoons from 3:00-4:00 at Dutch Point Park (September 27, October 4, October 11 and October 18). All children with caregivers are welcome (no registration necessary, no cost) - activities will be geared toward children ages 6-12.  No commitment necessary – come when you can. We will meet at the entrance to Dutch Point Park between Dr. A.T.Leatherbarrow Primary School and Hampton Elementary School (NOTE: if you arrive before 3pm to pick up children from school, please be conscious of the buses). For additional information, please contact Hamptonfreshaircollective@gmail.com, or find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HamptonFreshAirCollective/
