Grade 5 Bond Legacy Project Fundraiser at Belleisle Elementary

The students in Mr. Bond’s Grade 5 class at Belleisle Elementary spent the month of May helping their families and relatives with a wide variety of springtime chores to “earn” money for our class Legacy Project.  As of this week, students have raised a total of $ 457.90 by working at the following types of housework:  vacuuming, cleaning, taking care of pets, gardening, stacking firewood, watering plants, mowing lawns, adding waste to compost, yard work, washing dishes, collecting recyclables, taking cans to the depot, walking a dog, raking grass clippings, etc.  The earnings from all their hard work are set to be used to give back to our school and others in need, in the form of a contribution of new books for the B.E.S. Library (Legacy gift), and a donation to the Fort McMurray/Alberta Wildfires Appeal.  Also each student is slated to receive an Indigo Gift card for $ 10 per student to extend their learning into the summer months!  Great job Grade 5!
