Flexible Math

Teachers will be posting what is happening in their math class each week. Please check the website to see what your child is learning and how to help them at home.

Ms. Abbott - We will be counting large quantites of items. We learn how to bundle items into groups of 10 and then into groups of 100. We will also be learning to use a 200s chart (just like a 100s chart) and recognizing that numbers after 100 follow the same patterns. We will be learning two new games this week. Please expect one to come home for you child to play with you for extra practice!

Ms. Hawkes -

Mme Green - We will be exploring numbers to 100 000 as well beginning to explore numbers to 1 000 000. Students will be participating in in class experiments to discover just how big 1 000 000 is! Be sure to ask your child about them. Please ensure that students are practicing IXL at home, under the category "whole numbers". Their usernames and passwords went home with them a few weeks ago.

Ms. Waterhouse - (Oct. 24-27) This week we will be continue to review numbers to 1000. We will begin to compare them (least to greatest) and sort and order them. We will also be completing our first mini quiz to show what we have learned so far. Look for these quizzes coming home with your student on Friday.
