Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to send along a little reminder note about upcoming events.
-     Book orders are due today. (I will be placing the order tomorrow after school, so I will accept orders on Friday.)
 
-     There is no school for students on Monday, May 15th as it is the NBTA Annual General Meeting for teachers.
 
-     We are going on a field trip to the Fredericton Public Library on Tuesday, May 16th. I have received everyone’s permission slip already! THANK YOU!! Remember that we are walking back to the school from the library RAIN OR SHINE. Please check the weather in the morning and send your child with the appropriate clothing. If it is calling for rain, feel free to send an umbrella. You are more than WELCOME to JOIN US at the library and/or for our walk back to the school. We can’t take any extra adults on the bus with us since it will be a tight squeeze. We will be leaving the school around 9:30 am and should be arriving at the library between 9:45 – 10:00 am.
 
-     Homework for the remainder of May will be to work on the INQUIRY PROJECT. This entire project is to be completed at home. Projects are due on June 6th. If you have any questions about the project, please do not hesitate to contact me. Also, please send in the question your child will be investigating by the end of next week. REMEMBER your child should still be reading nightly!
 
-     The Grade Two’s will be completing the Provincial Reading Assessment at the end of the month. I will be discussing the test with the students to make sure they feel prepared. All I ask is that they try their best. They will not receive an individual mark on the test and it has no impact on whether they move onto Grade Three. I will let you know that exact testing days in the near future.
 
-     There is no school for students on Monday, May 22nd.
 
-     We (the grade two teachers) are hoping to have Clay Café come into the school sometime in June as a special year end activity for the students. The cost associated with this activity is usually around $5.00 per student. More information will follow in the coming weeks.
