Grade ¾ Newsletter
November
We will be working on the following outcomes this month:
 
Literacy
 
Punctuation – Punctuation is important while reading as well as writing! We will begin to use punctuation in books to help us improve our reading expression. We will also begin editing our writing for correct punctuation.
 
Writing personal narratives – Students continue to write stories based on their own personal experiences. We will learn about word choice.
 
Word Wall Words –  what, when, each, some, little, which, other, anyone, are, everybody, everything, hidden, our, right, terrible, trouble, write
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Math
Numeracy
Grade 3 will work on numbers up to 1000. We will complete place value outcomes ( rounding, money, ordering larger numbers)
Grade 4 will work on numbers up to 10,000. We will complete place value outcomes ( rounding, money, ordering larger numbers)
 
It is very important that the students know their addition and subtraction facts to 20. Some students are still struggling with these. Continue to review these facts at home!
Messages
Homework – must be completed and sent in on Friday of each week. If homework is incomplete , students will finish it at recess on Monday.
 
Tardy Students - Students who are continually tardy will make up time at recess.
 
 
Upcoming Events
November 10 – Professional Learning Day for teachers. No school for students.
 
November 13 – Remembrance Day holiday.
 
November 20 – Report cards are issued.
 
November 24 – Parent Teacher interviews. No school for students.
