Weekly Update November 7 - 10 2016

It is hard to believe that November is upon us.  Just some reminders for the week:
* Hot Lunch orders are due tomorrow for the 6 weeks beginning on November 29th.
* Scholastic Book Orders are due Thursday November 10th
* On Thursday we will be having a Remembrance Day assembly at 1pm
 
This week's words of the week are:  She, when, an, their, there.  We are continuing to review single letter sounds and double letter sounds (ch, sh, th).  We are also reviewing short vowel sounds and introducing when two vowels go walking rule.   The poems for this week are all Remembrance Day poems and will be uploaded to the website.
 
In writing we will be starting to look at procedure writing (how to pieces) and where we see it in our every day lives (cooking, games, craft projects, etc.)
 
In math this week we are starting new math groups as we look at how to sort 2D and 3D shapes.
 
In You and Your World students will talk about different groups that they are in and what makes those groups a group.
