Weekly Update Grade 1 Gaines December 19 - 23 2016

Good evening Grade 1 families!
It is hard to believe that we are into the last week of school for 2016.  I apologize for the lack of weekly updates as of late and will resume the practice in the new year.
 
Below are some important activities and events that are happening this week for our class:
 
Monday: A special guest will be coming to our school to do a reading of How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Tuesday:  Please remember to return your library books as this is our last library day of 2016.
Wednesday: K-2 multiage Christmas activity day - students will be put into groups and participate in 4 different stations throughout the morning (literacy, math, art and movement to music)
Thursday: in the afternoon we will be performing our Christmas concert in the gym so that students can see their friends and siblings in other classes
Friday: our last day before Christmas break.  Please remember dismissal is at 11:00am today!
 
RAH RAH folders will not be sent home this week.  If your child is in the middle of a chapter book and would like to continue reading that is not a problem.  Should you have time in this busy week (and over the break) please feel free to read books at home or use RAZ kids.  I sent home login information on Friday as some students had mentioned not knowing where their password is.  I have also found out how to update their reading levels and will do so this week to reflect any recent progress.
 
I hope you all have a wonderful and restful Christmas vacation and look forward to see you in 2017.
