GNMES students in Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 will be dismissing at 10:45 this morning. Students in Grades 3, 4 and 5 will be dismissing at 12pm (noon). Please contact your child's teacher through their classroom communication to inform them of your child's dismissal plans.

Information for Monday, June 7^th, 2021

 Good afternoon GNMES Families,

 With the forecast of high temperatures and Level II Heat Warning, in combination of fans not being permitted, we understand that you are concerned about the health and well-being of your child(ren). Be assured that we will take every precaution to ensure that the students are safe while they are with us.

 This will include, but not be limited to (provided by Anglophone West):

·       Ensuring students hydrate regularly throughout the day

·       Limiting excess physical activity

·       Minimizing exposure to the sun (will keep students inside for breaks if necessary)

·       Keeping classrooms as cool as possible (lights off, blinds closed, etc.)

 Steps families can take when preparing your children for the day include (but not limited to):

·       Having children wear lightweight and lightly coloured clothing

·       Having children wear/bring a hat to wear when they are outside

·       Send an extra water bottle so they always have one filled (one could also be half-filled and frozen before topping off with cold water)

·       Remember to label your child(ren)’s belongings with their name

 Should there be a decision to close schools you will be notified through our social media sites.
