Dear Families,
It was so nice to see so many families at the Howlfest! We really appreciate your contributions and support with this event. The children look forward to it every year!! Happy Halloween, I’m sure your child will have a great time trick or treating tonight!
Students are working hard with their writing. We are writing personal narratives and talked about zooming in on their ideas and writing more detail about the small moments in their stories. Writing is a process and the more they write the better they become.
We are continuing with our unit on Numbers up to 100. A great way to practice counting at home is to give your child a handful of coins ( pennies, nickels and dimes) watch how they count…encourage them to group all the dimes, all the nickels and pennies first. Practice counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s forward and backward. Continued practice with math facts is also essential.
We explored POP ART last week and used Roy Lichtenstein’s style to copy. Students did a great job making a design using bold outlines and bright pops of colour.
Dates to remember:
Picture retake- Nov. 4th
No school Friday, Nov. 11th –Remembrance Day
Achievement Reports coming home- Monday, Nov. 21st

Parent teacher conferences- Friday (morning) Nov. 25th

Just a reminder that we encourage students to bring healthy snacks each day and limit the amount of chips, chocolates or candy eaten at school to two a day.
Sincerely,
Liz Glenwright
