School Memo # 26 - Monday, March 26th, 2018

Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians

Good afternoon Creeker Families!

At this time of year, I want to remind you all that you need to check each morning regardless of the current weather, to make sure there are no school delays or closures, bus delays or cancellations. This can be done via the school or district website, http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/asd-w/Pages/default.aspx, twitter, listening to a local radio station, or phoning the hotline at 453-5454 or 1-888-388-4455. In addition, this is the time of year when the weather changes significantly from day to day. One day it may be below -20 but another day it is predicted to be +10. Or this change may even occur on the same day! So please keep an eye on the weather forecast for the day when you are preparing the children to come to school.

Parents, we are looking to form a committee of interested people who would like to participate in a meeting to help inform school policy about "Food allergies and other dietary restrictions." If you think you might be interested in participating in such a meeting, please respond to this email to sign up, or send me an email. We will decide on a meeting time based on the schedules of those who have joined the committee, and will be looking at late March/early April to have the first meeting-this is probably your last chance to join this committee!

We are also still looking for volunteers for the Scholastic Book fair at various times over the dates April 10th-13th. If you can volunteer, please let Mrs. Ghanem know or email our librarian Rebecca Doucette at rebecca.doucette2@nbed.nb.ca

Some parents have been asking about the book fair being after Easter and they would like to be able to "give books" for Easter. We created a small 'coupon' that you could print out and put in your child's Easter basket that says you will give them whatever certain amount of money to spend at the book fair. Sort of like an "IOU" for the book fair. Please see the attached file to print. If you do not have access to a printer, let us know at the office and we can print this for you. This is for your personal use only, please do not send money in to the school for this.
