Memo to Garden Creek Parents and Guardians
Welcome to our first weekly Memo
to keep you in the “know”! You will be receiving this memo on either
Fridays or Mondays, keeping you informed of events and dates as we progress
through the year.
First Week of School - I hope you find the first week of school a happy experience for
you and your child. I know that the staff is feeling positive and are
collaborating extensively to ensure your child is served to the best of our
capacity. Please remember to let us know your questions, suggestions and
concerns at any time!
Garden Creek Staff – A complete staff list was included in your welcome letter but..
we especially welcome some new staff to our school: Tricia McGraw in Grade 2
FI, Emily Greenwell in Grade 3 FI and Lucasz Kornas a UNB intern in Mr. Burnett’s Grade 3/4class. We
are welcoming back Theresa Pyke in Resource who was on Education Leave last
year and Cathy Reynolds, one of our 6 Educational Assistants. WELCOME!
Allergies: WE ARE A NUT FREE SCHOOL! We do
have students with life threatening allergies. Please refrain from sending nut
products with your child to school to ensure the medical safety of some of our
students. We will advise you of any other allergies as made known to us
by parents.
Important Medical Concern –
you will receive a letter tomorrow in regard to one of our students who has Juvenile Idiopathic
Arthritis. If your child exhibits any of the symptoms in the letter, please let
the school know so that we can inform the student’s parents.
FORMS TO COMPLETE AND RETURN: Forms
were sent home that will need to be signed and returned. Please return
these forms ASAP to the school after reading and completing all the
information. Thank you J.
Drop Offs - When
dropping off in the morning, the first 3 cars in the row should let their
children out on the right passenger side of the car. There will always be a
staff member to meet students at this location. If you need to come in to the
school, please park in the general parking lot.
Meet the Teacher – Meet the Teacher takes place next Wednesday, September 12th from 6:30 – 7:30
pm. This is a chance for you to get to know our school, new staff and spend
time getting to know your child’s teacher and the curriculum/ routines of the
class. See you there!
