6A2 (Marks) Homework (Math, Science, Homeroom) - Wednesday, September 30th

1) Math - We have completed our integers unit and have started our review. There will be a quiz on integers (les nombres entiers) next Monday, October 5th. Students started a review packet yesterday in class and will continue to work through it this week.  In order to be successful on the integers quiz, students should be able to: 

-      Identify integers in a list of numbers

-      Write integers in symbolic and numeric form

-      Place integers on a number line

-      Place integers in increasing and decreasing order (ordre croissant/ordre décroissant)

-      Compare integers using symbols: <, >, =

-      Give examples of the applications of integers


All of this information can be found in your child's Math Binder.


2) Science - The Invent a Vertebrate assignment is due on Friday if it was not completed today in class today. There will be a quiz on vertebrates next Wednesday, October 7th. In order to be successful on this quiz, students should be able to:

-       Recognize/list the common attributes of each vertebrate type (mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians)

-       Give examples of animals in each vertebrate class

-       Explain the difference between a vertebrate and an invertebrate and give an example of each

-       Classify animals as birds, fish, reptiles, mammals or amphibians and explain their classification

-       Compare and contrast different vertebrate groups (ex. what are the similarities and differences between birds and mammals)


Students have a vertebrates booklet in their Science Binder with all of the necessary informaiton and vocabulary to practice. We will also be completing review stations in class to practice.​​


3) 6A2 has Outdoor Phys. Ed. on Monday - Students should come dressed for the weather.


4) 6A2 will be doing our Terry Fox walk tomorrow (Thursday). Students should wear comfortable footwear and dress appropriately for the weather. Students are encouraged to donate $2. Money can be sent in to school or donations can be made through our School Cash Online program.


5) Apple Campaign - A reminder for students to sell apples! More information about the apple campaign can be found on the GSMS website.
