1. Social Studies - This week we are completing our Social Studies Unit on First Nations Studies. There will be a test next Tuesday, May 16th. For homework this week, the students will have to study their notes.  We will review the notes in class on Monday and on Tuesday, so students will only be bringing their notes home on Tuesday. In case you wanted to start tonight, I have attached the notes to this email.
 
2. There will be an informational night for parents on May 11th at 6pm at Nasis Middle School. They will have more information on their website later this week.
 
3. Writing - Students are in the process of completing their persuasive writing piece in French and their explanatory text in English. I have started conferencing with students and will do so all week. Those writing pieces will soon be marked and sent home to be signed.  
 
4. Guided Reading - I have changed the guided reading groups last week. I have increased the amount of time that I will be reading with some groups.
 
5. Math - We are in the process of converting units of measurement. Next, we will be starting area and perimeter.
 
6. Please return the track and field permission form that was sent home last week.
