Safe Schools Week ~ October 11 - 14, 2016

October 11 – October 14 is Safe Schools Week.  Throughout the week, students and staff will be taking part in activities that accentuate safety at school.  These activities will also help educate and prepare students in the case of emergencies within the school.
 
The following is a list of the Safe School’s Week activities:
 
Tuesday, October 11 – Lock Down Exercise (8:45)
 
Wednesday, October 12 – Fire Drill (10:30)
 
Wednesday, October 12 – Bus Evacuation Drill (8:30 am)
 
Thursday, October 13 – Mass School Evacuation (to Nasis Middle School)
 
Friday, October 14 – Rain Date for School Evacuation And / Or Fire Drill
 
We have reached out to our local police and fire departments.  While there are limited resources for community police officers and fire education, we are hoping that safety presentations by the Fire Department and the Fredericton City Police will take place at some point throughout the school year.  During safe schools week, teachers will be discussing personal safety, playground safety and bus safety within the classrooms.
 
As in years past, we are anticipating an effective safe schools week and appreciate your continued support.
