PANDAmonium Week Update

Hello families,

Believe it or not, March break is just a week away. That means that students will be celebrating PANDAmonium week. This year, the Student Council has chosen the theme The Courage in Me. We will be discussing the importance of being true to ourselves and also how we can help encourage others to express their unique talents and abilities. Please see the weekly reminders below as well as the special daily events occurring for PANDAmonium week.

  • Reading 60 minutes in French
  • Dreambox - Multiplication and Division outcomes are still assigned
  • Practicing Multiplication Times tables (up to 9 x 9) - most math groups are beginning division this week. The better students are able to recall their multiplication facts, the easier they will be able to transition to division.
  • Our class will be swimming at the Fredericton Indoor Pool near the end of March as a part of the Phys. Ed. curriculum. Students will be bringing home a swimming permission slip Monday. Please sign and return ASAP.
  • Grade 4/5 students have been invited to attend the quarter final game of the Cavendish University Cup. If your child would like to attend, please return the permission form by Friday, March 3rd.
  • Students will be bringing home a marked writing piece describing an exploration. Last week, students had the opportunity to correct or re-work their marked writing piece. Therefore, you may see two different marks on the rubric - one being the orignal mark, and the second being the mark after they had the opportunity to edit. Please sign and return.
PANDAmonium activities:
  • Monday: PJ day and fruit tray snack
  • Tuesday: K-2 talent show at 10:45 pm and veggie tray snack
  • Wednesday: Dress up as someone who demonstrates courage
  • Thursday: 3-5 talent show at 1:00 pm and frozen yogurt tubes for snack
  • Friday: Dress to Express (dress as wild/crazy as you want!), granola bar snack, Mad Science presentation and outdoor activities

Have a great week!
