What's Up in 1A this week

Bonjour les familles,
I can't believe I will be changing the calendar with the kiddies on Monday to October!!! Wow, time sure flies when you are having fun!  Here's what's up for this week in 1A:
Monday, October 2    Picture Day - brush your teeth and comb your hair and wear a cool shirt :)
Monday, October 2    Please hand in all money from fund-raiser. I hope everyone made a small effort to sell a few things to support all the wonderful things we do at PSS!
Tuesday, October 3  Please send in 3-4 pictures of your family as we will be starting a new unit on "La famille" and it is easier to describe our family members if we have pictures to refer to.  They can be pics with the whole family in them or individual ones...anything will do. Feel free to send in furry friends too :)
Wednesday, October 4  Our first guidance class with Mrs. D'Entremont!                       

Thursday, October 5  Finish-up day for our month-end final projects :)                                 

Friday, October 6  We will present our projects to each other and put them in the hall on display.

Monday, October 9 - no school Thanksgiving Holiday
Literacy:  We continue to learn one new sound and many new vocabulary words every week. Students will be coming home with another small book to read to you this week on hair and eye color :)
Math:  Dreambox is now up and running. Passwords were sent home last Thursday. I would like students to visit the math site a few times per week (10 minutes each time) to practice a few number games. We continue to work on patterns in class as well as numbers to 20+!
Upcoming dates: October 20th - Geordie Productions; October 24th - 11am dismissal; October 31st - Pumpkin Walk (more info to come soon)
