​​The Grade 5 Classes Of Royal Road School would like to invite their parents/grandparents/guardians to their promotion ceremony.

ROY’S WEEKLY ROAR June 19- June 23, 2017

Cafeteria- There will be NO cafeteria this week. 

We hope the sun and warm weather is here to stay!  Please apply sunscreen before coming to school to ensure your child is protected at recess and lunch. 

 

We had a great turn out to our school picnic and showcase.  We would like to thank Mrs. Hildebrand, Mrs. Cook and the Nashwaaksis Public Library for organizing our Pop-Up Library Book Tasting. 

 

We would also like to thank our Home and School Committee and the volunteers who helped make our picnic a great success.  Finally, thank you to the families who were able to come to our picnic and showcase.  Students worked hard and enjoyed sharing their projects with you. It’s wonderful when our school community comes together!  THANK YOU!!!

 

June 19th-23rd

June 19- K-2 Field Day (k-2 students will be outside for most of the morning.  Please wear sneakers, bring water bottle, hats, etc). There will be some water activities so may want to pack a change of clothes.

·          Talent Show Dress Rehearsal after school for grade 5 students who are involved.

·           Leadership pizza party at lunch.

June 20- Kindergarten Magician Visit

·         Jump Rope Assembly 1pm- Ms Douglas and Mrs. Burnett are getting WET!!!!

·         Grade 5 Welch class party

·         Grade 1 classes walk to Royal Road Park.

June 21- Grade 5 Celebration at 10:30am.  Congratulations to all of our grade 5 students!  We wish you the very best in Middle School next year.

June 22- Grade 4 Lisson and Crammond Pizza party. Grade 3 Black Pizza Party.      

·          RRES Talent Show at 10:20am

June 23- Last day of school for students- Students will be dismissed at 11:30 am

On behalf of all the staff at Royal Road we wish everyone a wonderful summer break!  Thank you for your support and we will see you in September J​

SHOWCASE/PICNIC

Reminder that Friday, June 16th is our schoolwide classroom showcase and picnic (rain or shine). Our showcase will begin at 11:00am-11:30am. Please proceed directly to your child's classroom at 11am. The picninc and BBQ will begin at 11:30am. Please do not forget that we will be raffling off a 'Summer Fun Gift Basket'. Tickets will be on sale by the main office when you enter the showcase and in the back playground during the picnic. Also don't forget to stop by our 'Book Tasting' which will be in the foyer by the library and cafeteria upstairs. Great way to keep your child's interest in reading throughout the summer. We hope to see you here!

Last Day of School- June 23

​The last day of classes for students will be Friday June 23rd. There will be an early dissmissal at 11:30am.

The last month of school has arrived. This is a busy month with lots taking place, so please check your child’s communication bags often, teacher pages, and school website.
Cafeteria - As this is the last month of cafeteria we have been informed that the menu may change (slightly) daily. The last day of cafeteria will be Thursday, June 15th.
We hope the sun and warm weather is here to stay!  Please apply sunscreen before coming to school to ensure your child is protected at recess and lunch. 
 
The Summer Basket is now on display in the lobby outside the office.  Thank you for the lovely donations and to our Home and School for organizing this fundraiser.  Tickets will be sold at our picnic.

·         All classes will visit the library to create their Summer Reading Wish List.
Friday June 16- Showcase 11:00 followed by Family Picnic
·         Please visit our Pop up Library that will be on display during the Showcase and picnic (located in the lobby upstairs near the cafeteria).

Last full week in May, so very hard to believe. We have gone from wet weather to very warm weather. Hope it is here to stay! Please be sure your child is prepared for the warm weather- sun screen put on at home in morning, hat, water bottle, etc.

 

Monday May 22- No School for students.

 

Tuesday May 23- AquaVan150 Visit (all day)- This program will take students on a journey across Canada’s diverse geographic regions and explore the waterways, some of the animals that inhabit them, and human impacts. Students will have a hands on learning opportunity with live animals and artifacts.

Wednesday May 24- Kindergarten Orientation 1:30-2:30pm

Thursday May 25- 

Friday May 26-

Well the playground is finally drying and the back playground has re-opened. Let's hope for more sunshine and warm weather.  Please keep an eye on our calendar on the website for upcoming events at the school.
