​We have completed our first month of school already! 

I wanted to take a moment to bring you up to date on what we are working on in the classroom in English. The students have been working diligently on a personal narrative. To successfully write their piece we have explored the planning process, great hooks for their introduction, practiced no excuse words during word work, explored how to show emotions (describe) rather than tell, transition words and we will also be examining descriptive vocabulary. 

In the coming weeks we will be doing various reading cmprehension activities using non-fiction (informative) texts in preparation for a research project they will be producing next term.

Though they do not have homework, I highly encourage you to have your child read every night as this will help to further develop their reading skills.
