​Hi everyone, 

This is to advise you that your child is presently working on a book response in English class.

The students were given the following:

Book response :
Due : March 17th, 2017
You are going to choose a chapter book at your reading level and read it. Next you are going to fill in the “Fiction Story Map” which was given to you, with information from the book you read. Then, you will write a summary about your book using the information from your “Fiction Story Map”. Please write a rough copy of your book summary, followed by a good copy that you will hand in on March 17th. You will
 also have to fill in a vocabulary sheet and give your book a rating and explain
whether or not you would recommend your book and why.  You will present your book response to your classmates on March 24th, 2017.  

Explainations were given in class and we also did activities to show them what is required for the written part of the response.

**It is very important for the students to have their book read in the next two weeks to give them time to write their response. They will have some class time but the bulk of the reading must be done at home.
