Happy New Year! Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas holidays!

The children were very happy to see their friends and have quickly settled back into their routines at school! It is amazing how far they have come since September!

Literacy:

Please keep reviewing letters nightly until they are mastered. The children must be able to give the letter name, sound and action and should know most of them now. If they are learning many, focus on 3-4 at a time. They also need to practice proper letter formation.

If the letters/sounds are mastered, review sight words, starting with the first  

12 (see homework sheet).  Once sight words have been mastered, practice spelling them.

It is also important to read the “take-home” books sent home each night.

Our first skating session was a success.  Thank you to all those who were able to volunteer to help out.  Our next session will be 10:00-11:00 on January 22^nd at York Arena.
