Youth Employment Fund

The Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour has recently launched a new employment program (April 1st) called the Youth Employment Fund. This program is for youth ages 18-29 in NB. The goal of this program is to help link youth to sustainable employment in NB. This program is designed for youth who don’t currently have aspirations to go on to Post-Secondary Education but are interested in working. So as an incentive to NB employers our department has designed a program which places youth at their business or organization for 26 weeks where we subsidize the wages to help them gain experience to develop a relationship with the employer and show that they can be a vital asset to their company.

The program is also available to any youth looking for work as long as they are not planning to go to school in the near future. They can also be unemployed or underemployed Post-Secondary graduates if you know other youth looking for employment such as past graduates from your schools.  The interested youth can contact me directly or they can register for the Youth Employment Fund at www.nbjobs.ca.
