The PE department is currently looking for coaches for the following teams.
Boys Badminton (End of Oct-Mid Dec)
Varsity Girls Basketball (Beginning Dec- end Feb)
JV Boys Basketball (Beninning Dec- end Feb)
If you or someone you know is interested in one of these teams, please contact Mr. Mahar or Mrs. Crossland at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We've had a busy September, and we want to officially thank our parent volunteers who have helped with different activities, such as our school dance, Terry Fox walk and our lunch program. Your time is truly appreciated!
As always, we love having family and friends help out when they can - please contact your child's teacher or the main office if you'd like to volunteer!
This fun event is open to all students, however, if a
student is absent on this school day, they should not attend the dance that
The cost to get in is $5.00/sudent, or $4.00 with a can of soup
(chicken noodle, vegetable or alphaghettis) to contribute to our soup program.
Students should not arrive before 6:30, and they must be picked up at 8:30 - no
later! Our staff is volunteering their time and would like to go home to their
families. If you would like to pick up your child earlier than 8:30, please
come into the school to get them.
Once students enter the dance, they cannot leave the
building until the end of the dance or a parent picks them up. Students are not
allowed to go to the store during the dance. We have a canteen at the dance so students are encouraged to bring a little extra change to purchase some treats!
Parents are always welcome to help supervise the dance and
help with the canteen – if you’d like to join us for a fun evening, please
and let us know!
All families should have started to receive email messages (and possibly text messages) from teachers. As well, we sent out a school-wide email last week.
If you haven't seen these emails yet, please check your junk folder - we've had a few people report that they found them there.
If you don't find messages there, please contact your child's homeroom teacher and let them know you're not getting the messages.
We're using a new email system and it may take a little time to sort out any glitches - thanks for your support and patience!
Check out this great opportunity from our friends at the Oromocto Food Bank:
Our breakfast program is very popular and is used
by a large number of our students as a place to get together with friends in
the morning and grab a bite to eat. If you are able to volunteer any day from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m., we would love your assistance! Please e-mail email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org to indicate which day(s) of the
week you are able to volunteer. Thank you!
Mr. Mahar & Ms. Crossland would like to welcome students to apply for our HP Leadership Club. Students in this club will help build positive school culture, advocate for students in our school, develope and implement students lead innitiatives and provide direction for our school moving forward.
Applications are open to all students in grades 7 & 8, can be picked up outside the PE office and are due on Wednesday Sept 18th.
Come be the change you wish to make in your Middle School Experience!
Mme Thomas will be offering Eco Club for students who are concerned about our environment and/or would like to find ways to help our planet. There will be learning activities about climate change, reducing-reusing-recycling etc... as well as making action plans for our homes, our school, and community. All drives/arrangements need to be made in advance and be here on time. For more information, please contact email@example.com
Often times middle
school students do not have the chance to interact in a social setting or may
not have many friends. Best Buddies works to change that through our friendship
program. Our program provides people the chance to have experiences which most people
take for granted – simply enjoying the company of a good friend. We will get
together at school for activities and also meet up for social events. Best
Buddies encourages social inclusion and integration for students with
disabilities, but we’ve opened our chapter to any student who would like to
build on their friendship circle. The Peer Buddies are gaining leadership
skills while the Buddies are gaining social skills. This is certainly inclusion
at its best!
Best Buddies meet every two weeks from 2:30-3:45 p.m., beginning
on Tuesday, October 1st for our Meet and Greet. Please make sure your child is picked up at 3:45. For more information, please contact Mrs. Donovan at firstname.lastname@example.org
In order to improve our partnership with the Oromocto Food Bank, we are currently looking for a volunteer (or two) to assist with picking up/dropping off food items for our students. It shouldn't be a lot of food, just a few boxes.
This work can happen any weekday, and the pickup time is flexible. We would like to have someone start as soon as possible. We need someone to do this twice a week.
For more information, please contact Mrs. Touchie Blakely at email@example.com, or call the office (357-4070).
Thanks for helping our school and students!
